Injection Molding

Poly Seal Industries offers precision injection molding for a multitude of products across a wide spectrum of industries. We process elastomers such as silicone, natural rubber, nitrile/Buna, chloroprene (including Neoprene), urethane, and FKM (including Viton), synthetic isoprene, fluorosilicone, EPDM. Aflas, and Kalrez among others. We are able to process both vertical and horizontal molds. We provide custom color matching.

Our state-of-the-art injection molding machinery boasts a press size up to 100 tons. We can hold A1 high-precision tolerances and provide surface treatment of parts for protection and longevity including coatings resistant to abrasion, chemicals, and vapor transmission.

What are the advantages of injection molding over transfer and compression?

Because the rubber is strip fed into the screw and piston, it is preheated and mixed before being injected into the mold cavity. This preheating results in significantly shorter cure times, and more consistent part to part quality. It also eliminates the need for an operator to place preforms into the cavities as you would in a compression mold, or into a pot as needed with a transfer mold. Modern injection machines also allow much greater control over how quickly and accurately the cavities are filled which also results in higher part quality and less flashing. Injection molding is recommended for higher production volume, and many times will result in lower unit cost. Since you have lower cure times you can use fewer cavities which reduces the dimensional variation you may get from one cavity to the next.

In addition to precision injection molding, Poly Seal has developed a number of complimentary value-added services including laser engraving and etching, rubber to metal bonding, cryogenic deflashing, and die cutting. All of our work is done in-house, resulting in consistent high-quality and cost effective results. We are continuously improving our products and processes, following lean manufacturing methods.
